In 1994 queer artist Ron Athey’s controversial performance involving ritual incision, sparked a national debate around art and censorship, ultimately leading to the slashing of the National Endowment of Arts budget and the elimination of grants to individual artists.  Twenty one years later the debate around censorship, contemporary queer aesthetics, and radical embodied performance returned to Minneapolis at Patrick’s Cabaret.
